Ruben Tempel is Segment Leader for Energy Storage in Northern Europe at DNV, based in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

With more than 10 years of experience in the energy storage sector, Ruben combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of project development and commercial strategy. Prior to joining DNV, he held technical sales roles at energy storage system integrator Alfen and served as Director of Energy Storage at a project developer.

Since joining DNV in 2024, Ruben has advised developers, investors, lenders, and asset owners on large-scale energy storage projects across Europe. His experience includes acting as Owner’s Engineer and Lender’s Technical Advisor, supporting project financing through  technical due diligence and other risk mitigation services. As Segment Leader, he is responsible for the development and growth of DNV’s energy storage advisory services across Northern Europe.

Ruben holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a postgraduate professional degree in Electrical Energy Technology.
